Mike was an absolute pleasure to deal with, he took phenomenal pictures, was able to get relatives who were at odds with one another to take fantastic pictures with one another… (perhaps he had a prior career as a hostage negotiator) . The pictures were ready when he said they would be and the photo book did not disappoint. Mike took what could have been a very stressful day and help make it fun and delivered a fantastic experience. I can’t recommend him highly enough.read more

We hired Mike for our wedding and loved him! From the very first interaction with him over the phone to the meeting in person, Mike made us feel very comfortable. He has a great… personality – this is crucial to have on your wedding day! He is very welcoming, builds rapport with people quickly and is amazing at what he does. On our wedding day, we had Mike and his colleague Sierra taking our pictures The pictures they took are perfect! Sierra and Mike built rapport with our wedding party very quickly and with our guests. Mike took our wedding photos and our engagement photos. We were so overjoyed by his services so much that we had a whole paragraph in our newlywed speech. It is as follows:”Next… we would like to thank our photographer from The Art of Weddings, Mike Day. He took all the amazing photographs you see out in the front area and he has a real talent and eye for taking creative and fun pictures. He’s a professional who loves his craft and we definitely recommend his services to anyone who might be looking for a photographer in the future. We look forward to seeing your finished work!”In addition to what we said, Mike is also a photographer who doesn’t mind getting dirty for the perfect shot. Numerous times he got on the ground to get an interesting angle or to get the lighting just proper. We also did our engagement photos in very cold weather (single digit Celsius) and he braved the cold without any complaints. Lastly, he was great with our guests, whether he was taking large group shots or taking pictures of families and their little children. My husband and I have nothing but wonderful memories about our experience working with Mike and Trina from the Art of Weddings, for our wedding in September of 2016. They came… highly recommended to me by a colleague and friend for their documentary style, comprehensive and artistic approach to wedding photography. Upon meeting with Mike Day, we felt an immediate connection and knew that we were in the hands of a seasoned professional who clearly produced beautiful work – but could also make us laugh. He was able to work with us to find a package that suited our needs and most importantly – our budget! On the day of our celebration, both Mike and Trina managed to capture some of the most beautiful and treasured moments imaginable – completely naturally! My husband who gets nervous in front of a camera, felt completely at ease shooting with the photographers. Mike was a fantastic photographer who was professional throughout the entire process of working with him. My husband and I are both very shy in front of the camera, and don’t like… being the center of attention, but Mike made us feel very natural during both our Engagement and Wedding photos! He made us feel comfortable, relaxed, and never distracted us from the events of the day while capturing all of the important moments we wanted! He never pestered us to pose, or be somewhere that we weren’t already planning to be! He even fit in well with our family and friends; everyone loved working with him!The photos we received from our wedding were turned around quickly and were very high quality.
